Today was another clear, hot, mid October day, but it looks like that pattern is coming to an end. A cold front looks to sweep over the area tomorrow afternoon and it will bring scattered storms with it. Right now there is a widespread covering of severe weather across the Southern Plains, and the system producing those storms will move in here tomorrow. Right now it looks like the storms will reach the Delta by early morning, but with the loss of instability overnight, the should be trending down in intensity. As the front moves across the state and reaches our area by tomorrow evening, we should have had sufficient daytime heating to make the atmosphere relatively unstable so we will be on the lookout for some strong to severe storms tomorrow evening into the early overnight hours. A large, widespread severe outbreak is not expected. After the storms pass we are in for a cool and clear week. Highs should generally run in the mid to upper 70s and lows will be in the 40s and 50s. A second cold front will move through on Thursday and right now it doesn't look like it will cause much rain, but it's still pretty early to be sure. Tropical Storm Rafael is East of Puerto Rico and moving to the Northeast, it won't be any problem for us. Enjoy the weather this week!
