We dropped all the way down to 25 at Key Field this morning, and many outlying areas probably dipped into the lower 20s. Today was a really nice day to get out and work on Christmas shopping with mild temperatures and sunny skies. Unfortunately, it looks like that kind of weather is not going to last. The first of two disturbances will approach us tomorrow. It will bring the chance for some showers and thunderstorms, mainly tomorrow night and Monday morning. After that, Monday will be warm and cloudy ahead of a second, quite potent storm system. A low pressure system will again move in from the West on Christmas Day, and forecast confidence for this storm is low. If the low pressure takes a more northerly route, that will bring us the chance for some severe weather. If it takes a more southerly route, then our northern areas may not even see any rain, while the southern region of the viewing area could deal with some storms. It really just depends what track the low decides to take and how unstable the atmosphere becomes ahead of it. This storm system is definitely one we will be keeping our eyes on, and unfortunately it's going to be a wait and see situation on just what we can expect. After that, Wednesday will be cloudy and windy, and we cool down once again, with lows on Thursday and Friday dipping back down into the 20s. Make sure to keep up to date with us about the potential for Christmas storms.
