Saturday 12/29 Forecast Discussion

Posted: Sat 5:14 PM, Dec 29, 2012

Today was a raw, cold, and windy winter day...one that was most enjoyable inside next to a fire. The clouds lingered around today after the showers ended last night, and that kept temperatures in the mid 40s this afternoon. Tonight looks like it will be the coldest night so far this season as we drop into the lower 20s tonight. Some of our outlying areas could even bottom out in the upper teens by the time we wake up tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be another chilly day with highs around 50, but without the wind and clouds, it will look like a much better day. We ring in the new year to rain as a series of disturbances pass over us midweek. Thankfully it doesn't look like any of these systems will present a severe weather threat, but with all of the rain we've seen we could be dealing with some isolated flooding issues by Thursday. Lows stay in the 30s and 40s and highs stay in the low 50s all the way through next weekend, when we finally start to clear out. Make sure you bring plants and pets inside tonight and remember to keep at least 3 feet of space around space heaters.
