Saturday 1/5 Forecast Discussion

The rain moved in this morning and has been on and off all day, but mostly light. The clouds are hanging on with it, and that is making this first Saturday of 2013 just feel like a cold, rainy, nasty day perfect for staying inside. Showers will linger on throughout the night, but the clouds should begin to clear tomorrow morning and we'll some sun by the afternoon with temperatures rising into the mid 50s. Monday looks nice with a cold start in the upper 20s rising up to around 60 by the afternoon. Tuesday is when things start to get interesting. A disturbance currently over the West Coast will move East and that will bring us rain, potentially heavy, starting Tuesday night, during the day Wednesday, and ending Thursday night. If you're a fan of winter weather, unfortunately temperatures will not support snow or sleet, so this should strictly be a rain event. The strength of the system is still uncertain, so we'll keep an eye on it over the next few days. After that, we clear up for Friday and Saturday with lows in the upper 30s to low 40s, and highs topping out in the low to mid 60s...a much better 2nd weekend to the New Year than the first!
