It's officially the first day of summer and we felt it, as Key Field made it up to 93 degrees today before storms rolled through the area. The storms are in advance of a very mild cold front that's moving through the area. The ridge that has been the focus of our weather the past few days has weakened which is prompting all the rain.

Tonight showers and storms will quickly die off by about the midnight hour before developing again around mid-morning tomorrow. Storms tomorrow will be more numerous in coverage thanks to the weakening ridge as well as more unstable atmosphere. Storms that do develop will have the tendency to be on the strong side, but nothing severe.

For the first part of the week rain looks to stick around with us thanks to a series of upper level disturbances moving across the area and kicking up storms. For the most part mostly cloudy skies will impact everyone next week which will keep our temperatures slightly cooler. By next weekend temperatures will quickly make another run towards the lower 90s with minimal rain chances in the forecast.
