High pressure is making some eastward progress, and our wind is shifting and will be all over the place tonight and throughout much of Friday before it becomes southerly Friday night and Saturday. That southerly wind flow will help to carry warmer and more humid air into our region from the south, so temperatures will be warming and clouds will return and build throughout the weekend. An area of low pressure moving into the Southwestern United States this evening will race eastward and generate a new surface low pressure system over the Plains this weekend. That developing surface low will serve as a focus for severe weather over the Plains, and then that low pressure will bring a cold front through our area. While the severe weather threat appears low for us, there does look to be an increased chance for rain late Sunday night and into Monday as the cold front moves through. The cold front will not have a lot of cold air with it, so temperatures will not cool drastically. Things will be mostly quiet going into Tuesday, but another cold front is on the way for late Wednesday. That cold front will mean another round of rain and thunderstorms overnight Wednesday and into Thursday morning, which will be followed by a cool down for the end of next week.
