We are finally starting to see signs of change in our area's weather, but we have to wait for that change until early next week. For now high pressure is holding tight and will not be quick to move for a few more days. An upper level low pressure area over the Gulf of Mexico off the Texas Coast is drawing moisture toward it and will help increase rainfall over Texas initially. Forecast models indicate our high pressure will finally start to weaken and ease to the east of us, and when that happens the moisture with the upper low over Texas will start to surge into our area. With the relaxing high, afternoon showers will be allowed to develop. While not everyone will see rain, the high pressure weakening alone will be enough to help relax the heat and bring temperatures back to near average for this time of year.
