Tuesday, February 12 Forecast Discussion

Updated: Tue 4:53 PM, Feb 12, 2013

After what feels like an eternity of rain, the rain will come to an end overnight and Wednesday morning as the upper level low and surface system depart and move to our east. Clouds will be stubborn to break up tomorrow, but I think we'll see at least a few peeks of sunshine before the sun sets tomorrow. Full sunshine returns in time for Valentine's Day (interpret that as you wish) with highs returning to 60 degrees.

A weak cold front arrives on Saturday which may touch of a shower, but right now it looks like it won't have too much moisture to work with, so I am going to lower rain chances a tad for now. The better chance at rain arrives on Tuesday with our next cold front. This front looks to produce some decent rains and maybe even some storms, but we will have to watch it a little more before I change the icon from rain to storms.

The concern now will shift to our area rivers. A few have reached flood stage already (see lakes and rivers post from today) and a few more may before the end of the week. The flooding we will see will not be the same as what we saw back in January, but it will be something to take note.
