After the clouds broke a bit today, temperatures skyrocketed towards 70. The front that was to work through overnight got hung up in the Mississippi Delta and is still there this evening. It will remain in the Delta until Thursday when an advancing cold front will merge with the front and swing it through the area. This front looks to bring plenty of rain starting Wednesday night and into the afternoon hours on Thursday.

Behind the front, a lingering shower is still possible on Friday, but temperatures will climb back towards 70 through the weekend. This unseasonably warm air will remain in place for our second cold front Sunday into Monday. We may see a storm or two, especially on Monday, as the front works through.

After this front passes, more seasonal air looks to arrive as we move into the middle portions of next week where highs may return to the 50s.
