A cold front is continuing to slide through the area. Most of the rain today has been along and south of Highway 84, but a couple of storms have developed this afternoon right along the front along the Highway 16 corridor. The front will slide through most of the area tonight, ending up along or just south of Highway 84 by morning. Drier air will filter in behind the front, which will cause a seasonal night tonight and low humidity tomorrow.
The low humidity will remain through the next 7 days as high pressure builds in. We will see a brief warm up to the mid 90s to close the week and start the weekend, otherwise highs stay seasonal in the low 90s with dew points in the 60s, making it less humid outside.
Really, in the extended range, high pressure will recenter over us to start next week, with the closest rain chances really not getting any further north than Hattiesburg. A dry spell awaits with seasonal readings as we begin to close out summer.
