A rainy, cold, gray, dreary day for us today as showers have worked through the entire area. Rain, for now, has come to an end for most locations south of I-20 as some drier air aloft has worked in over top of us. The rain will return overnight and tomorrow as the upper level low moves through. Temperatures won't go too far tomorrow either as the clouds and rain will keep it feeling more like Winter than Spring.
Rain will come to an end Friday morning. I expect the rain to be done for most of East Mississippi before midnight Friday with our West Alabama counties clearing up prior to sunrise. Skies will slowly begin to clear and temperatures will rebound back to the 60s Friday, 70s Saturday, and 80s Monday.
After a beautiful weekend and start to next week, our next system will arrive on Wednesday bringing our next chance at rain. It is too early to say what this system will do, but since we will be in the 80s, severe weather will be a possibility. Also, we will be approaching the middle of April, and we are at our climatological peak for severe weather, so this system will be monitored very closely over the coming week.
Remember, anytime it's raining you can track it down to your street with our Southern Pine Electric Power Association Interactive Radar. The link to it is below.
