MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -

The pandemic has impacted our way of life, but things are slowly getting back to normal for many of us, including members of the Meridian Rotary Club. The Rotary Club had been meeting via conference call.

Club president, Wade Sims, says he was thrilled to see members again and conduct club business.

Interim Police Chief Charles Coleman was the invited guest speaker for the first in-person meeting the club has had in more than three months.

Coleman talked about the importance of working together. The chief says he’s going to need everyone’s help in making Meridian a better place to live and work.

“I really count it an honor for anyone to invite me out. Certainly, what I do when I go out to events like this is be as honest as I can be with the individual,” said Coleman. “I tell the truth and I speak from my heart. I think when you speak from the heart the public will know you are telling the truth when you’re doing all you can do.”

The Rotary Club meets every Wednesday at noon at Northwood Country Club.
