Meridian High School football is back
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -The Meridian Wildcats football team hit the field for their first workout of the summer Monday.
Even though MHSAA allowed teams to return on June 1, the Wildcats football staff wanted to stay on the safe side and waited two more weeks to get started.
The Wildcat’s focus for the work out was conditioning, getting used to the new normal of social distancing, wearing masks, and cleaning all the equipment after each use.
Head coach John Douglass was happy to get back on the field with his players.
“I’m glad just to be back together as a team,” Douglass said. “We are all trying to ease back in it and these first couple of weeks we’re going to try and get ready to go.”
