MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -The Quitman Panthers football team hit the field Tuesday for their first time this summer.

With Tuesday being the team’s first work out in three months the main focus was getting their cardio back.

Before practice started, head coach Rashad Gandy talked to his players about love, unity, and equality.

“Our kids need to know that it’s about unity and about love,” said Gandy. “Our kids know we love them. They love us and we're a big family here."

The team will have to wait two weeks before they can go into phase two of summer workouts.
