MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Monday! We look to see partly cloudy skies for our Monday with highs in the low-90s. Heat index values could get as high as 100 degrees this afternoon. We’ll see a chance of an isolated shower or storm this afternoon, but many of us will remain dry today. We’ll see mostly clear skies tonight with Tuesday morning lows in the low-70s.

Storm chances will increase a bit heading into Tuesday and the rest of the week. Tuesday will feature scattered showers and storms with a high of 93. Heat index values will be around 100 once again Tuesday afternoon. Scattered showers and storms will be with us once again on our Wednesday, with high temperatures climbing into the low-90s once again. Storm chances will increase further heading into Thursday as highs stay in the low-90s and morning lows stay in the low-70s.

We’ll see periods of rain and storms heading into the weekend as highs stay in the low-90s. Our Independence Day will feature mostly cloudy skies with rain and storms possible. Most of this activity will be during the afternoon hours and so if you have any evening fireworks plans for the Fourth of July, you should be looking good. Rain and storms chances will continue into our Sunday.
