MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The Lauderdale County School District is selling surplus equipment and the public has a chance to bid on it.

The sale includes items that schools are no longer using, copy machines, old computers, iPads, buses, and pickup trucks. The sale started about two weeks ago. It ends in mid-July. Contact the district to get a listing of items for sale and you can arrange to view them. All proceeds will be used by the district to buy more updated technology.

“You can pick up a packet coming by the office. You’ll put your bid price for the items that we have for sale on that sheet and turn it in on July 7. We will open bids that day and award the bid to the highest bidder. We will get that board-approved, then you can pick up your items,” said purchasing agent Susan McKee.

Organizers said most of the items are only 2-3 years old. The central office will be closed on July 2nd & 3rd. For more information, call 601-485-0838.
