Fireworks shows set for Turkey Creek, Archusa
(WTOK) - Some Independence Day holiday fireworks celebrations have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic but others are proceeding, but will actually be July 3rd.
Turkey Creek Park, 142 Parkway Drive in Decatur, has an Independence Day Celebration scheduled for Friday.
The Decatur Volunteer Fire Department will be selling food, including Cook’s barbecue, hot dogs, cheese dip with chips and Mr. Mike’s frozen yogurt, and start serving at 5 p.m., but the park will be open all day.
There will also be face painting, a balloon artist and the National Guard will be back with games for children.
Gates will close at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks show starts at 9 p.m. The cost is $10 per vehicle.
In Quitman, Archusa Creek Water Park’s Annual 4th of July Celebration is Friday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with a fireworks show at 9 p.m. The cost is $10 per vehicle.
There will be live music, a boat parade and food for sale. Proceeds from the sale of food benefit the Quitman Fire Department.
As previously announced, fireworks shows at Meridian’s Bonita Lakes and the Pearl River Resort are cancelled for this year.
