MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Friday! Another round of rain and storms is likely on our Friday, so be sure to keep the rain gear handy. Most of the storms will develop in the afternoon and begin to dissipate after sunset. Highs on our Friday will climb into the low-to-mid-90s with heat index values climbing as high as 105 in spots. Be sure to stay hydrated if you have any outdoor activities planned and limit outdoor time during the heat of the day. We’ll see partly cloudy skies tonight after a few showers early this evening.

Our Independence Day will feature scattered showers and storms, mainly in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low-90s with heat index values once again climbing up to 105 degrees. As with Friday, the showers and storms will begin to dissipate after the sun sets. If you plan to light any fireworks Saturday night, most of our area will be dry. We look to see periods of showers and storms on Sunday and Monday with highs in the low-90s and upper-80s, respectively. Morning lows will stay in the low-70s.
