TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Kansas City Chiefs have signed quarterback Patrick Mahomes to a new deal, making him the richest athlete in sports history.

Steinberg Sports, the agency that represents Mahomes, tweeted that the League MVP quarterback agreed to terms on a 10-year extension worth $503 Million. The deal comes with $477 Million guaranteed and Mahomes will have outs if the guarantee mechanisms aren’t exercised. Steinberg Sports also says there is a no trade clause in the contract.

This 10-year deal adds on to Mahomes’ current two-year contract. The extension will go through the 2031 season.

Some of Mahomes’ teammates have tweeted out their support for the new deal.

In his two seasons as the starting quarterback in Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes has won a League MVP and a Super Bowl MVP with the Chiefs.
