MHP seizes guns, drugs after traffic stop

SCOTT COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - The Mississippi Highway Patrol announced Tuesday that it made four arrests and seized illegal drugs as the result of a traffic stop July 3 on Highway 35 near Forest. Troopers seized over half a pound of marijuana.

The MHP says the driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was initially stopped for speeding.

In addition to the pot, $3651.50 in currency and three handguns were seized.

MHP says Stanley Burns, Jamal Bolden, and Diavalon Jacobs, all from Jackson, Miss,, along with Chastain Brown from Forest were arrested and booked into the Scott County Jail.

Burns, Bolden and Brown were charged with possession of marijuana while in possession of a firearm. Jacobs was charged with possession of marijuana. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is assisting with the case.
