Rainfall this afternoon could lead to isolated flash flooding
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Tuesday! We’ll see patchy dense fog in spots this morning, so be sure to leave some extra time to get to your destination. Any fog should lift by 9 a.m. Periods of rain and storms are likely once again on our Tuesday, and the rainfall could be heavy at times. This may lead to isolated instances of flash flooding this afternoon and early evening, mainly along and south of I-20. Be sure to use extra caution while driving in heavy rain and remember to turn around if you come across a flooded roadway. Highs on our Tuesday will be in the mid-to-upper-80s. Rain chances will start to go down once the sun sets, but scattered showers and maybe a rumble of thunder will still be possible through the middle of the night. Temperatures will drop into the low-70s by Wednesday morning.
We’ll see periods of rainfall once again for our Wednesday, mainly during the afternoon. Highs on Wednesday will be in the upper-80s. Rain chances will decrease a bit as we head into Thursday and Friday, but scattered showers and storms will still be possible each afternoon. High temperatures will climb back into the low-90s on Thursday and Friday due to the lower rain chances. Morning lows on both days will be in the low-70s.
Saturday will be the driest and warmest day this week with highs in the mid-90s and a chance of isolated showers and storms in the afternoon. Sunday will feature partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms in the afternoon. Morning lows will be in the mid-70s with afternoon highs in the mid-70s. Scattered shower and storm chances will continue into our Monday as highs stay in the low-90s.
