MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Sunday brought temperatures that felt so hot they made you almost sticky the minute you walked out of the door. Monday we will see more heat, but our heat index will only reach the upper 90s. As you walk out the door for work we will see temperatures in the mid 70s by 6 a.m. and they will stick around until 7 a.m. By 8 a.m. we will start to see the 80s and there is a 20% chance for an isolated shower as you walk out of the door.

Sunday night as you are going to sleep we will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s with a few thin clouds hanging around. Overnight we will drop down a few degrees to the mid 70s. If you like to work out, I would work out in the morning or night this week with our heat index being so high. By noon Monday temperatures will graze the 90s and there could be a few isolated showers through the afternoon. By dinner time we will continue to be in the lower 90s and the mid 90s. By 11 p.m. Monday night we will be dry once again and see temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Using the EMEPA live radar we can see a few showers to the South, but the rain and thunderstorms we had in the area earlier this evening have left. For the next five days we will be in the 90s all week. Monday we will see temperatures in the lower 90s and by the end of the week temperatures will be in the mid 90s. Due to the heat index it will feel even hotter and Monday by noon it will feel closer to the upper 90s. Into the afternoon temperatures will feel like the 100s so you will want to limit your time outside.

Monday morning we will be in the mid 70s and reach the lower 90s by noon. By the afternoon we could see a few isolated showers and we will be in the mid 90s. I would go ahead and download the WTOK weather app to stay updated on the heat that is staying in our area and you can use the radar to monitor pop up showers near your house. Monday we will be in the lower 90s with a 20% chance of rain in the afternoon. The rain chances will stay in the forecast for the rest of the week as we see more isolated showers in the afternoon. Friday we are seeing the chance for thunderstorms, but we will be mostly sunny for the majority of the week.
