School administrators in Quitman have also announced their plans to safely get students and teachers back in the classroom.

The school district will follow a traditional schedule where students will be physically present in school following federal, state and local mandates related to the pandemic.

A parent can choose distance learning for the student. Bus transportation will operate as normal as possible and students will not be required to wear masks all day. You can see the entire return plan here

“And of course getting the information from our CDC and from our local health officials to do what is best for students, says Dr. Shevanda Truman, Curriculum & Testing Coordinator for the Quitman School District. “We will plan but when we have to go back to that plan and redo or modify, that’s what we’ll do. The challenge has just been planning of not knowing what to expect but we do the best we can with the information that we currently have.”
