MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Wednesday! Temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-90s on our Wednesday with heat index values as high as 107. The only way you will see lower temperatures is if you see some rain and storms before peak daytime heating (around 4 p.m.). Scattered showers and storms will be possible Wednesday, especially in areas south of I-20. Any storms that develop will have some pretty heavy rainfall associated with them. If you see multiple storms over your location, localized flash flooding is certainly a possibility. No widespread impacts are expected. We look to see scattered shower chances overnight with Thursday morning lows in the mid-70s.

Scattered shower and storm chances will continue into our Thursday as highs drop back down into the mid-90s. Heat indices will be topping out around 105 Thursday afternoon. Rain chances will drop a bit more heading into Friday as highs climb back into the mid-90s. The humidity will decrease a bit on Friday and that will lead to heat index values “only” topping out around 102.
