100 degree heat index returns Thursday
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Thursday! With rain chances going down on our Thursday, temperatures will go up. High temperatures today will return to the low-90s with heat index values between 100 and 105. Scattered showers and storms will still be possible this afternoon, we’ll just see less coverage of rain than compared to the past few days. Any showers and storms will start to fade away after the sunset. We’ll see partly cloudy skies tonight with Friday morning lows in the mid-70s.
Friday will feature partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid-90s. Isolated showers and storms will be possible in the afternoon, but most of us will remain dry. Saturday will have the highest rain chances we’ll see over the next seven days as a disturbances passes through our area. Scattered showers and storms will be likely in the afternoon, but an all-day wash-out is not expected. Storm chances will decrease again heading into our day on Sunday.
We will be even drier as we head into the next work week. We look to see partly cloudy skies Monday through Wednesday as temperatures gradually warm. We’ll see high temperatures in the low-90s Monday and Tuesday and then the mid-90s by Wednesday. Isolated showers and storms will be possible each afternoon, but many locations will be dry each day.
