Warming trend starts with heat indices of over 100 degrees
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - An overall drying and warming trend will begin Thursday, but a few showers or thunderstorms are still possible amid that drying.
Tropical showers will linger this evening. Rain can fall heavily at times. The rain will end by midnight, and the rest of tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy. The low temperature will be near 74 degrees. Thursday will be will partly to mostly cloudy with a few showers or thunderstorms. More of us will likely stay dry on Thursday. The high temperature will be near 94 degrees. Heat index values will be as high as 105 degrees.
Friday will be partly cloudy and mostly dry. The high temperature will be near 95 degrees with heat indices of 100-105 degrees.
The weekend is right around the corner. Sunday will be the drier half. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Sunday will be partly cloudy with a few showers or thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 90s both days. Lows will be in the low-to-mid 70s.
Drying and warming will continue Monday through Wednesday. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s with heat indices of 100-105 degrees in the afternoons.
