Teen shot in Kemper County, man arrested
KEMPER COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - A teenager is in critical condition after being shot Friday afternoon in Kemper County.
Kemper County Sheriff James Moore says the 17-year-old was shot multiple times Friday afternoon at a residence on Highway 397 near the Winston County line.
The victim was airlifted to Jackson and was listed in critical condition as of Friday night.
Sheriff Moore says the victim’s uncle, Frederick Nunn, 38, has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
The victim is an area high school football player. The Nanih Waiya High School Football program tweeted a show of support for the victim Friday afternoon.
