Showers possible Tuesday, but we will feel more comfortable with lower humidity
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Humidity has decreased, so the air will have a crisp feel. You will especially notice it in the mornings. It's a temporary hint of fall that will only last a couple of days. Afternoons will be unseasonably cool through Thursday.
The humidity can vary with height. Humidity above the ground is still just high enough that a couple of afternoon showers or thunderstorms are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday. Still, the summer variety of pop-up showers and thunderstorms mean most areas will stay dry.
This evening will be mostly clear and comfortably warm with a small chance for a stray shower or two. We will cool into the upper 70s by 10 PM. We will cool quickly through the rest of tonight beneath a mainly clear sky. Our low temperature by morning will be near 68 degrees. Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a small chance for a few stray showers. The high temperature will be near 89 degrees.
Wednesday will be a repeat performance of Tuesday. Thursday through Monday will gradually warm with steadily increasing humidity. The heat index could build to dangerous levels again this weekend. The chance for rain will stay relatively low, but it will start growing by Monday.
