Isolated showers & storms possible this afternoon
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Wednesday! Small rain chances will be in store for the rest of the work week as temperatures slowly warm. Rain chances will increase as we head into next week. This morning we are looking at temperatures in the upper-60s to low-70s under a mostly clear sky. Patchy fog is possible in spots this morning, so be sure to leave a couple of minutes extra time to get to your destination. Widespread fog issues are not expected and any fog should disperse entirely by 8 a.m. We look to see partly cloudy skies on our Wednesday with high temperatures in the upper-80s. Isolated showers and storms will be possible this afternoon, but many of us will stay dry. We’ll see a chance of a stray shower or two overnight, otherwise expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies with Thursday morning lows mainly in the upper-60s.
Thursday will feature partly cloudy skies with highs returning to the low-90s area-wide. Isolated showers and storms will be possible in the afternoon, but many of us will once again stay dry. Morning lows will return to the low-70s area-wide by Friday morning. We will also continue our high temperature warming trend on our Friday, with highs expected to climb into the mid-90s. Showers and storms will develop Friday afternoon, but those will be few and far between. High temperatures on our Saturday will once again be in the mid-90s under partly cloudy skies. Thanks to daytime heating, isolated showers and storms will be possible Saturday afternoon.
Sunday will be the warmest day of the next seven with high temperatures in the upper-90s after starting the day in the mid-70s. We’ll see partly cloudy skies on our Sunday with isolated showers and storms possible in the afternoon. Storm chances will begin to increase heading into the next work week. Both Monday and Tuesday will feature partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon hours. Morning lows during this time frame will be in the mid-70s. With the increase in rain chances, temperatures on our Monday and Tuesday will go down as well. It will still be warm on both days with high temperatures climbing into the mid-90s.
