MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - The chance for rain will stay low for now, but temperatures and humidity will begin increasing by Thursday.

The Next 24 Hours

Our Wednesday will stay unseasonably cool with abnormally low humidity. That means the air will feel comfortably crisp, especially in the mornings. After any evening showers fade, tonight will be mostly clear. The low will be near 67 degrees. Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a few afternoon shower or thunderstorms. The high temperature will be near 88 degrees.

Looking Ahead

Showers and thunderstorms will be few, but humidity will begin increase on Thursday, and we will warm to 91 degrees. We will gradually step up in temperature day-by-day. The weekend will be back in the mid-90s with humidity high enough to yield heat indices of over 105 degrees. The heat will ease only slightly as a chance for rain returns to our forecast on Monday and Tuesday.

With the increasing heat and humidity, heat indices will be back up to as high as 105-110 degrees. Remember to be safe if you’re out in the heat for long periods of time. Make sure you’re eating well and drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated so your body is able to handle the heat. Also be sure to take frequent air conditioned breaks out of the heat.
