Another pleasant summer day in store for Friday
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Friday! Humidity will stay relatively low for this time of year this weekend as temperatures warm. Rain chances will start to get more into play by the next work week. We are waking up to mostly clear skies this morning with temperatures mainly in the upper-60s. Patchy fog is possible in a few spots this morning, but no widespread issues are expected. Any fog that develops will clear up entirely between 8 and 9 a.m. We look to see mostly sunny skies on our Friday with highs in the mid-90s. Dew points will stay on the lower side of things this afternoon, which will lead to less humid conditions than compared to what we usually see during this time of year. A pop-up shower or storm can’t be ruled out this afternoon, but rain is unlikely today. We’ll see mostly clear skies tonight with Saturday morning lows in the low-70s.
We’ll continue our warming trend as we head into our day on Saturday. Temperatures will climb into the mid-to-upper-90s Saturday afternoon under partly cloudy skies. A pop-up shower or storm can’t be ruled out during the afternoon, but rain is unlikely once again. Morning lows will return to the mid-70s by Sunday morning. Sunday will feature partly cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers and storms in the afternoon. Even though rain chances will be a bit higher on Sunday than on Saturday, rainfall will still be hard to come by. Humidity values will stay relatively low during the Saturday and Sunday time frame. It will still be quite warm though, especially on Sunday as highs climb into the upper-90s across the area. Storm chances and the humidity will increase heading into our day on Monday. High temperatures will be in the mid-90s under partly cloudy skies with a chance of scattered showers and storms. Heat index values will range from 100 to 105 starting Monday and lasting through the rest of the week.
Rain chances will continue to increase as we head into our day on Tuesday. Scattered showers and storms will be more likely than compared to Monday, but an all-day wash-out is still not anticipated. High temperatures on Tuesday will drop back off into the low-90s, but heat indices will climb into the 100-105 degree range. Scattered showers and storms will once again be possible heading into our day on Wednesday. High temperatures will stay in the low-90s but it will feel like it’s in the low-100s. Not much change in the forecast is expected as we head into Thursday. Scattered showers and storms will be possible on our Thursday with highs in the low-to-mid-90s. Heat indices will once again top out around 105 degrees.
