James Young wins Democrat primary for Philadelphia mayor
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -Philadelphia Mayor James Young has won the Democrat primary.
Young is seeking his 4th term. Young is Philadelphia’s first African-American mayor.
Young will face Republican Leo Renaldo in the June 8th general election.
Mayor Young says he’s committed to seeing the city of Philadelphia projects develop for the community. That includes road paving, increase tourism, and the multi-million dollar 4 lane project. He continues by listing the reasons why he should be re-elected.
“My honesty, integrity, experience, and passion for this community. I have a vision. We are not done yet. We are trying to make Philadelphia the best city in East Central Mississippi. There’s a lot going on in this community. I am proud to be part of it,” said Mayor Young.
Incumbent Mayor James Young will face Ronaldo in the general election on June 8th.
