Preparations being made for N. Hills Street paving project

MERIDIAN, Miss. - The City of Meridian’s Street Division will close North Hills Street, from Highway 19 to Riverbirch Drive, on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Public Works Director David Hodge said crews will be doing drainage improvements in preparation for the upcoming infrastructure improvements to North Hills Street, from Highway 19 to Highway 39.

Drivers should plan alternate routes to avoid delays.

The City of Meridian received $3.4 million in funding from the Mississippi Legislature through House Bill 603 for costs associated with the project. Hodge said he expects the paving to begin within the next couple of months.
