A young boy from Neshoba County receives heart after being on transplant list for months

NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - Matthew O’Neal, a local boy from Neshoba County, is receiving a new heart.
Matthew has been in a hospital in Alabama for over 206 days waiting to receive a heart transplant, and the family got the news the hospital found a heart for him on Sunday evening.
The latest update from the family says the surgery is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Matthew is a current student at the Sebastopol Attendance Center. And has been waiting for this day since October 6th, 2023.
