John Travolta filming new action movie in Ocean Springs

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - Film crews took over downtown Ocean Springs to shoot a new action movie starring John Travolta.

The film is titled “Cash Out 3.” Travolta plays a character named Mason, who is a thief trying to pull off big heists in different situations.

Crowds gathered at the production site along Washington Avenue to watch.

“There were just a lot of people, and it was really cool to get a glimpse of all that it takes to make one scene happen,” said Ocean Springs Mercantile Marketing Director Eva Pund.

Local businesses are thrilled to know their establishments could make the big screen in theaters.

“If they got a glimpse of the store or just our storefront, I think that’s very exciting for all of us that have been spotlighted,” said Pund.

“It’s really nice to see an opportunity for us to be more on the map,” said The Lady May Assistant General Manager Adian Kaltenbaugh. “With four years down here, we are really starting to be a fixture in the local community, and we want to continue that, so having us kinda permanently cemented in the downtown scape is a great way to see that come to fruition.”

John Travolta also spent time in South Mississippi filming “Cash Out 2: High Rollers”.
