Meridian Little Theatre holds Wizard of Oz auditions for the upcoming season

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -The Meridian Little Theatre is gearing up for its 93rd season and on Monday held auditions for The Wizard of Oz.

This production is open to those ages 13 and up and offers a wide selection of roles people could choose from, such as Dorothy, The Good Witch, Scarecrow, The Wizard of Oz, and more, a selection of supporting roles, and some even involve singing. Tiffany McGhee, Artistic Director for the Meridian Little Theatre, talks more about the auditions while encouraging those to come out and give it a shot.

“This show is definitely a beloved class, like I think we all love it, and of course, we’re jumping on the popular train of, you know, the new part 2 movie release coming out in November of a certain musical that most theater people love and cherish. So, we thought this would be a great time to start the season off with The Wizard of Oz. And so, there are lots of parts of all kinds. If you don’t think you’re a singer or you don’t think you’re a dancer, but there are some great parts with lines, I mean, there’s just a lot of opportunity in this production, too. So, I mean, anyone and everyone should come out and try and get involved and be a part of the production,” McGhee says.

Auditions will continue on Tuesday, July 29th, from 5 pm until 8:30 pm and on Saturday morning from 9 am until 12 pm If you would like to audition, you are highly encouraged to stop by.
