Afternoon summer showers stick around for the middle of the week
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Afternoon showers will stick around as highs rise over the next few days, with temps finally reaching back up to around the norm by later in the week.
Overnight Monday and into Tuesday, there is the potential for another small wave of showers and storms to roll through before sunrise on Tuesday, but we’ll clear out by sunrise for a dry but muggy Tuesday morning.
Highs stay in the upper 80s and lower 90s for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with afternoon chances for showers and storms. These could be rather heavy at times, but for the most part, they’ll be scattered and not last a very long time. Overnight lows stay in the lower 70s with partly to mostly cloudy skies for your overnights.
It’s not until the back part of the week where we’ll see highs return firmly to the lower 90s with more sunshine. Friday and on into the weekend, we’ll see partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower 90s, right on par with our seasonal averages.
TRACKING THE TROPICS
It’s quiet in the Atlantic for now. No activity expected within the next 7 days.
