MCC hosts 1st orientation of the Summer
MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) -For many students, stepping on a college campus for the first time means excitement and questions.
This summer, Meridian Community College is helping new Eagles turn those first steps to college into a confident start.
MCC will welcome admitted new students to campus through a series of one-day orientation sessions designed to introduce them to college life, connect them with campus resources, and help them prepare for the fall semester.
Orientation sessions are set for June 23, July 16, Aug. 5, and Aug. 14 in the campus’ McCain Theater.
“Orientation is open to all new students who have been admitted to MCC. There is no limit on the number of guests students may bring, and a special break-out session will be available for parents and guardians,” said Mandy Hurtt, executive director of recruiting and admissions.
Throughout the day, students will get a closer look at what it means to be part of the MCC community. They will have opportunities to meet with advisors, tour learning spaces, learn about campus services, and complete key enrollment steps before classes begin.
The orientation experience will also include a Campus Life Fair, where students and their guests can visit with representatives from the Eagle’s Nest Bookstore, the Cafeteria, Student Support Services, the Student Success Center, and other campus areas. The fair gives new students a chance to learn more about the resources and support available to help them succeed inside and outside the classroom.
