Avaionia Smith was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi. She began her career at WTOK in May 2022. Avaionia is so excited to be a part of the Storm Team 11 and the WTOK-TV family. You can join her every morning on Good Morning Meridian starting at 5AM for your daily forecast. She is proud to service East Mississippi and West Alabama at the station she grew up watching.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in meteorology at Jackson State University. Her continuous love for weather lead her to Mississippi State University where she is currently working towards her master’s in broadcast meteorology.
When the weather allows, she loves spending time with her family and friends, traveling, working out, cooking with her sister, and listening to music.
