Cara Shirley

Cara Shirley was born and raised in Meridian and currently resides in Collinsville. She is married to her best friend and husband of 21+ years, Eric. She has 3 daughters, 1 son-in-law, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and one grandbaby coming soon! She also has an intense love of all things Christmas!

Long before joining WTOK, Cara served as a lead volunteer for a prominent global ministry for several years. During this time, she honed her skills in writing, digital content creation, and communication, which proved to be invaluable assets for a successful career in local radio broadcasting. With her acquired expertise, Cara is now embarking on her television broadcasting journey with WTOK-TV, equipped with the confidence to excel in her new role.

Cara spends her free time either with her family at home, camping with her closest friends, or volunteering with a few organizations.

Cara is passionate about advocating for mental health awareness in adults and teens, with the aim of eliminating the stigma surrounding mental illness. Moreover, she aims to inspire individuals that it's never too late to pursue a career and to always embrace your true self.
