Shelby Mason grew up in the Middle Tennessee area and knew she wanted to pursue a career in meteorology more than a decade ago when the 2009 Good Friday tornado ripped through her community.
The tornado outbreak made Shelby understand the power of weather and how important it is to understand weather systems and be able to inform and alert the public.
Shelby pursued her love of science and meteorology at Mississippi State University (Hail State!) where she plans on graduating in 2021.
She’s involved in philanthropic service work both in Starkville and back home.
In her spare time, Shelby enjoys outdoor activities like golf and tennis.
Shelby is thrilled to be the newest member of Storm Team 11!
