Family and friends gather to pay respect to lost scouts

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- A dedication ceremony took place to honor past, present and future Eagle Scouts Sunday.

The service was held at Camp Binachi. The ceremony was held to memorialize two Eagle Scouts Justin and Brent Cobb who passed away within a month of one another.

Family, friends and the Eagle Scouts all gathered to pay their respects. The father of Justin and Brent, Leonard Cobb, says both of his sons were highly involved in the boy scouts and they were honored to be a part of the program.

“It’s really great. It was such a great turnout of family and friends. Some came as far as Jackson just to be here,” said father Leonard Cobb.

“It’s just a wonderful opportunity not only to memorialize two of our past eagle scouts, but to honor scouting and the future eagle scouts with this project,” said scout executive Boy Scouts of America Kennth Kercheval

Justin Cobb was a circuit judge in Lauderdale County and Brent Cobb was the vice president of Miller Transports.
