MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- An annual run under the moonlight took place at a local park.
Several runners came out to the 16th Annual Moonlight Race that was held at Northeast Recreation Park. The run consisted of a two mile walk, a 5k run and a fun run that is a 1 mile run for children 12 and under.
Northeast Recreational houses the 3.1-mile course, with runners taking in the view along the parking lots of the softball fields, soccer fields and tennis courts.
“I feel great. I can’t wait to go running with my dad,” said runner Skyler Bynum.
“It’s proven to be a great event and it’s popular. We see a lot of the same faces year after year. It’s like a reunion. It’s good to see the same people over and over again,” said race director Charlie Turner.
The top three finisher in each age group male and female will all receive medals.
