An 18-wheeler-turned-fireball led to even more chaos on Interstate 59 Friday evening.

That accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on I-59 about a mile from the I-20 split. The truck was traveling north when it caught fire.

Shortly after the fire, two more cars were involved in an accident just a short distance down the interstate. Both cars were in the median.

Right now, it's not clear what caused the 18-wheeler to catch fire, nor what possible injuries those involved might be facing.

Both lanes of traffic are currently blocked off, and traffic in the area is backed up. You're advised to avoid the area.
