MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Families lined the streets of downtown Meridian Saturday evening for the 2018 Christmas Parade.
The parade consisted of over 50 floats. The theme this year was Christmas in the City. Despite the parade being rescheduled twice, organizers say the turnout was very high. The weather was more appropriate. Parade goers share their favorite parts of this year's event.
"I like to see the band, cars, lights, and the girls dance. I just liked seeing everybody say merry Christmas,” says Marlaina Baylor.
"My favorite part was the costumes, the mustangs, the dancing, and the decorating,”
says Charm Hunter.
The grand prize was given to Central United Methodist Church and Scout Pacn 2. First place went to Midway Baptist, second went to East Mississippi Realtors and third place went to Anderson Regional Hospital.
