MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- Local mail carriers participated in the annual national Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. As mail carriers made their normal routes they also picked up bags full of non-perishable food items for the need.
"It's to give people a leg up, they might be in an unfortunate situation and this provides a little safety net for them," says resident Paul White.
"The importance of donating is that you're giving back to the people in your community. Kids and the elderly they need this type of thing to go on especially throughout the summer months," letter carrier Quintin Joseph says.
