LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) Narcotics agents have arrested two people from Meridian on drug trafficking charges.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics says Jamie Locke and Craig Doyle are charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.

MBN Director John Dowdy says seven pounds of marijuana was seized Friday. The marijuana could bring up to $44,000 in street sales.

Agents discovered the illegal drug while executing a search warrant at the residence located at 2211 42nd Street in Meridian. That home is just a few blocks away from Poplar Springs Elementary School.

The suspects were arrested there.

An investigation conducted by the MBN, with assistance from the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, led to the suspects’ arrests.

Bond for Locke and Doyle was set at $100,000 each.
