House of Hope lends a helping hand to Union apartment fire victims

UNION, Miss. (WOK) - The community of Union is going above and beyond to help the families devastated by the Union Square Apartment fire. House of Hope in Union is also accepting donations that will be given to each of the families. They also have a shelter for victims to stay and provide hot meals six days a week. So far, they have received tons of clothes and household items, but Pastor Byron Artis and volunteers say the more donations they receive, the better.

“What we want to do, is because of the kind donations of the people in the community already, we want to offer them solutions after they’ve gotten their into new places, meaning that we have plenty of clothing and household items, but what we need more of is furniture items," says Pastor Artis.

House of Hope is also holding a Transformation Class that will focus on rebuilding and starting over, on February 16. For more information on the ministry or the class, visit their Facebook page.
