Suspects in custody after deadly Toomsuba shooting

TOOMSUBA, Miss. (WTOK) -- Lauderdale County Sheriff Billy Sollie says one person has been killed in a shooting Tuesday afternoon in Toomsuba.

The sheriff says deputies arrived in the town limits and determined the person was actually shot in the 8100 block of Prisock Road.

Sheriff Sollie says two people are in custody. He says one person was arrested at the TA Truckstop in Russell. Another suspect was arrested in the city of Meridian. The vehicle used in the getaway was also located.

The suspects have been identified as Jimmy Marquez Johnson and Janetta Lard. Johnson is charged with murder while Lard is charged with accessory after the fact.
