JACKSON, Miss. (WTOK) - Local and state economic leaders gathered in Jackson for Mississippi Economic Council Capital Day.
The day allows business owners and economic leaders, from all across the state, to come together and hear from state leaders about what the year ahead holds. Mississippi Economic Council President and CEO Scott Waller said MEC Capital Day is a beneficial experience for all involved.
“It’s really designed to give members across the state the opportunity to come to the capital city, hear from state leaders, meet with legislatures. It’s a kick-off to the legislative session where we talk about some issues that are important to us,” said Waller.
Waller said workforce development is one of the issues at the forefront of all economic leaders.
